This week, I completed Articulate's e-Learning challenge 462 - moving beyond e-Learning's next button. The objective of this challenge was to re-imagine course navigation without relying on the next button.
I created a short course on dog care for this challenge. Learners navigate the course with a dog care menu on the right side of the screen, as shown above. Each menu item takes learners to a screen where they learn about caring for their dog's dietary, exercise, hygiene, and medical needs, respectively. The navigation style for this course was inspired by the pet care menus in virtual pet games such as Nintendogs.

This was a particularly fun challenge. I really got to exercise my creativity! All of the dog animation scenes were created using Vyond. I then imported the videos into Storyline, where I created the navigation menu and programmed the course interactions. If you want to check out the full course, it is available below.
